DSVN 141-199 at Dông Mó. Vietnam. - a photo on Flickriver

            Metre gauge 'Mikaido' 2-8-2 no.141-199 is seen in Dông Mó station while working train S199 the 06.00 Bác Giang to Dông Dăng. This was a charter organised by the British LCGB (Locomotive Club of Great Britain) and covered all the metre gauge routes in the north of the country over the period of a week using members of the then still active class 141 steam locomotives based at Hánôi depot. The depot retained four daily diagrams for the class for shunting and local freight work but time was running out for the locos as increasingly less were available for traffic and could be expected to finish at any time. In the end January 2003 saw the final curtain for DSVN mainline steam as the two remaining shunting and trip jobs at Hái Phóng were replaced by diesels.
