The Continent by train and ship : tourist folder : British Railways, Southern Region : London : [1960] : inner fold

            A folder issued by British Railways promoting European rail travel commencing with their extensive system of cross-Channel ferries including those on Irish Sea and North Sea crossings. The folder gives a brief introduction to a number of European destinations and notes that, once you have considered a pontential holiday location, to ask for the specific country folder also issued by British Railways.

Undated and with a design sadly unattributed this appears to be the 1960/61 issue given the print code. The contemporary feel to the design includes this composite collage use of photography and graphics on a black background. It sells the idea that the crossing itself, some of lenghty duration, could be made part of the holiday experience.
