Flickriver

            Here's an image of the 3 moose (bull. cow with calf looking on) that I, and many others, photographed in Algonquin Provincial Park on the first day of October. The bull had been following the cow and placing his chin on her rump to test her readiness to mate. Each time she just moved slightly away from him.

A second before this image was created she had just walked away from him again when he approached her one too many times. Then she quickly did a 180 degree turn and trotted away. The light was poor so I was shooting at ISO 4000 and 1/125 sec shutter speed so she is not as sharp as I would have liked. I do like the fact that you can see the calf looking on while the adults interact. The water drops flying adds to the sense of movement.
