Kirkby, Headbolt Lane, Northern 156426 & 156410 2K66 (10.20 Blackburn - Kirkby Headbolt Lane) 18/03/25.

            The 'Northern' side of the new Kirkby Headbolt Lane station and 156426 & 156410 arrives with the hourly Northern service from Blackburn via Manchester. 
The headshunt for Knowsley Freight Terminal runs parallel to the main at this point. Since my last visit trees have been cleared on the righthand side opening up the shot which was taken with my pole @ 7m.
* Headbolt Lane is intended to become a major transport hub in the north eastern suburbs of Liverpool. 
Plans are in place to reinstate the branch to Skelmersdale … subject to West Lancs Council funding!
