Vintage 5ply 209pc Jigsaw Foxes Jigsaw adj IMG_9324

            I took this pretty little jigsaw to the BCD Meeting of November 2014 at Chelmsford in the hope that we might be able to complete it and that someone might recognise the 'pi' signature piece. It was a lucky ebay purchase, bought for a song and turned out to be a chunky, well cut 5ply puzzle, housed in a child's Clarks shoe box.

It was completed and pronounced to be a very well cut amateur puzzle by the experts present. The cut has a pleasing rhythm and variety, and is so interlocking that the whole jigsaw can easily be picked up and turned over. The 'pi' signature piece was interpreted as the maker's initials JT, identity unknown.
