Coddington All Saints, Celebration of 150th Anniversary of Bodley Rebuilding IMG_4451

            A party in Coddington Village Hall to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the 'extensive renovations' ie rebuilding of All Saints Church Coddington. The architect was GF Bodley, with contributions by Morris Marshall Faulkner & Co. Our new parish's first real Vicar, Rev John Maximilian Dolphin was ably assisted in the project by churchwardens James Thorpe (of Coddington Hall) and William Codd.

At Coddington History Group's Open Day yesterday we welcomed an descendent of Rev Dolphin, who brought along some family photos. I had done a display board about the 1865 Rebuilding, and was thrilled to be one of a very small group privately shown over the vicarage built for him c1872 by the current owners. It was fascinating to see a small window with diamond shaped glass quarries, painted in the same design as the original aisle windows of the church.
