BCD Mtg Boxes Very Early Salmon Academy 190pc Anne Hathaway's Cottage DSC06587

            We were treated to a series of Salmon Academy boxes from our publications editor's authorative collection. The deep one with shallow lid at the back is his earliest example,  possibly 1922-3, containing 190pc Anne Hathaway's Cottage. Each piece is 10mm deep of solid wood - possibly walnut. I have a similar jigsaw and it's strip cut and quite tricky to fit together because the blade didn't always stay vertical - the owner confirmed that this is also a feature of his jigsaw. 

By coincidence, a slightly smaller 100pc jigsaw in the same packaging came up on ebay two days later - and sold for 1bid £1.40 +pp.A lucky find for someone, and proving that bargains still happen.
