BCD Mtg Theatre & Film 71 - a photo on Flickriver

            The show & tell table at the BCD meeting whose theme was 'Theatre & Film'.

L: On the left is the poster from a Waddington  150pc jigsaw featuring E.T. , the film released in summer 1982.

In the centre is a splendid antique jigsaw from France, one of a set of six, Theatre des Animaux Savants (smart or knowing animals). The satirical jigsaw has 24 large pieces and shows animals(mainly monkeys) in social situations playing recognisable people and roles.

R: Another small wooden jigsaw cut from a print by AVM (A V Mansell, printer) in the cutting style of Chad Valley. It shows Mrs Jarley, the travelling waxworks impresario from Dickens's Old Curiosity Shop, speaking to Little Nell and her grandfather.
