BCD Mtg Theatre & Film DSC03668 - a photo on Flickriver

            The show & tell table at the BCD meeting whose theme was 'Theatre & Film'. A Waddington  150pc jigsaw featuring E.T. , the film released in summer 1982, sits on top of its enclosed poster.

At the front is a small wooden jigsaw of J Arthur Rank star John Mills, in an attractive grid cut whose pieces have steeply sloping sides. A biography has helpfully been provided. The Photochrom micro puzzle, originally priced at 1s 6d features Alice Joyce. The wooden jigsaw is wrapped in a card envelope.

On the right is a splendid antique jigsaw from France, one of a set of six, Theatre des Animaux Savants (smart or knowing animals). The satirical jigsaw has 24 large pieces and shows animals(mainly monkeys) in social situations playing recognisable people and roles.
