            Banari sorge nelle Sardegna interna, nel Meilogu, antica regione che deve il suo nome alla curatoria medievale Meiulocu, ossia "terra di mezzo".
La caratteristica delle case è che sono costruite con la trachite rossa, materiale molto diffuso in questo territorio..
