Miner Dan demonstrates the finer points of drilling in the Old Hundred Gold Mine

            The Old Hundred Gold Mine is located 5 miles east of Silverton, Colorado in scenic Cunningham Gulch surrounded by 13,000 foot peaks.  The property is no longer mined, but is open for tours in the summer. Our tour guide, Dan, worked the mines for 18 years before retiring.  He freely shared his knowledge about mining and demonstrated how to use the equipment.  He's a really nice guy and, for some reason, I pictured him in a sleigh pulled by twelve reindeer.
