Scratching the itchy spot, Double Mountain, Texas, Iscorama anamorphic

            Here's my sister Susie and a horse we found on a back road drive through Stonewall County, southwest of Peacock. We were trying to make our way to the road leading to the summit of Double Mountain and were pleased to find the gate unlocked. However, the road up the mountain definitely was a Jeep trail only. Using binoculars to view the road climbing the north side of the mountain revealed severely rutted areas and one possible wash out, so we passed on taking what could have been a risky drive. If we were in my Jeep, you'd be seeing photos taken from the top.

A bit over one mile from the Double Mountain Road gate there's a condemned Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway boxcar being used as a livestock shed. These can be bought surplus and moved to your location. After a few minutes of shooting pix and gabbing, two horses that must have heard us trotted over from somewhere behind the shed. They hung around watching us as we spent another 15 minutes shooting flowers, bugs and other stuff. The one shown spent a few minutes scratch his jaw on the top of a wooden fence post. We walked over to it and found that it was quite friendly and seemed to like our company. Susie went to scratch it behind an ear and he stuck his nose out, raised his head a bit, seeming to invite her to scratch the area he had been rubbing on the post. We could tell when she hit the "sweet spot" when he began putting on ridiculous expressions.
