"General Steam Navigation" on the Belle

MN no 35011 "General Steam Navigation" passes Eastleigh on the down "Bournemouth Belle" on 21 April 1965. The light pacific on the right is 34064 "Fighter Command" - the one with the Giesl ejector.

Picture taken by me, aged 13, on my first visit to Eastleigh with my Brownie 127 box camera. 35011 would be withdrawn from service just 10 months after the date of this photo, and was taken to Barry scrapyard. After 23 years rusting by the sea no 35011 was purchased for preservation and is now at Sellinge in Kent.
