Kings Cross in 1978 - a photo on Flickriver

Kings Cross in 1978

            I have quite a few b/w photos of Class 55 Deltics taken in 1977-1979, and have just found another. This photo was taken on 18 August 1978 and I'm fairly certain that the loco on the right is no. 55014 "The Duke of Wellington's Regiment" - see photo below.

55014 was new, as D9014, in September 1961 and was withdrawn from service in November 1981. It was scrapped at Doncaster Works in February 1982.

The HST set is 254011, and, at this date., HSTs had only recently started work on the ECML. Although 254011 is listed as entering service on the 30 December 1977  with power cars 43076+43077 I recorded the power cars on this train as 43076+43082.

My records show that 254011 had arrived at Kings Cross at about 13.05hrs, so can any ECML expert out there tell me what 254011 would have been working?
