Ayr depot in 1977 - a photo on Flickriver

Ayr depot in 1977

            My photo was taken at Ayr depot very early (about 06.40 hrs) on 9 June 1977. The locos pictured are Class 25 no 25008 and Class 27 no. 27008, both of which were allocated to Glasgow Eastfield (ED) at this date. 

25008 had been new, as D5158, in July 1961. It was withdrawn from service in June 1980 and was scrapped at Glasgow works in the same month. 27008 had been new, as D5354, in September 1961. It was withdrawn from service in August 1987 and was scrapped at MC Processors in Glasgow in November 1987.
