25013 at Haymarket depot in 1977

            We saw a good proportion of the earliest batch of Class 25s on our 1977 "grand tour" of Scotland. D5151-D5169 (which became 25001-25019 under TOPS) were all built at Darlington and were delivered during 1961. We saw 13 out of these 19 locos on this trip. Four of those 19 were already withdrawn from service by this date, but 25013 (seen here at Haymarket on 11 June 1977) would last until September 1980. 25013 would be scrapped at Swindon works during 1980.
