ROMA. FONTANA DI TREVI. - a photo on Flickriver

            LA MORTE E LA FANCIULLA.

Vorrei citarvi il testo di Mathias Claudius, testo che ha ispirato il lieder "La morte e la fanciulla" di Franz Schubert ;

La fanciulla riconosce la morte e dice: "vattene barbaro scheletro, vai via non mi toccare".
E la morte le risponde: "dammi la mano, bella creatura, sono tua amica, non sono cattiva, dolcemente dormirai tra le mie braccia.

Il tema dell'amore e della morte è comune a tutto il romanticismo europeo e in Schubert è sempre presente quasi a presentimento della sua scomparsa prematura. Morì a 31 anni.

Schubert nacque a Vienna nel 1797 dove morì nel 1828.
Morì giovanissimo e gli ultimi 4 anni costituiscono un miracolo di fioritura creativa.
In quel periodo videro la luce non soltanto il quartetto celeberrimo "La morte e la fanciulla", considerato uno dei suoi capolavori ma anche le sonate per pianoforte, la Messa in Mi bemolle Maggiore, il quintetto per due violoncelli, anche quello uno dei suoi grandi capolavori.
Durante la sua vita Schubert fu ignorato, quasi misconosciuto dai suoi contemporanei.
Quello che più colpisce di questo compositore è l'incredibile modestia.
Una totale umiltà e disinteresse per le cose materiali.
Per lui la più grande gioia era far conoscere agli amici che lo circondavano le sue opere e trasmettere loro il messaggio ricevendo da loro gratificazione, affetto e amicizia.
Schubert componeva per queste occasioni musica varia tra cui i suoi celeberrimi lieder.
