Si moltiplicano le iniziative in occasione della Giornata internazionale contro la violenza sulle donne, che si celebra il 25 novembre. Ogni anno oltre cento donne vengono uccise in Italia da uomini che conoscevano o con cui, nella maggioranza dei casi, avevano avuto una relazione affettiva. 
Gli atti persecutori spesso non vengono denunciati. Il problema è che questi possono degenerare ed è molto difficile intercettarli.
