ARIIS DI RIVIGNANO. IL FIUME STELLA

Il fiume Stella, la più importante arteria di risorgive del Friuli, mette in contatto lalta e media pianura friulana con il mare. Questo asse idroviario in epoca antica intersecava inoltre, sia la nota via Annia, che la rotta endolagunare che collegava Aquileia a Ravenna. Specchio di questa primaria importanza del fiume Stella sono i numerosi resti e reperti archeologici che sono stati individuati nelle sue acque.

ARIIS OF RIVIGNANO. THE RIVER STELLA

The Stella river, the most important resurgence artery in Friuli, connects the upper and middle Friulian plains with the sea. In ancient times, this waterway axis also intersected both the well-known Via Annia and the intra-lagoon route that connected Aquileia to Ravenna. Mirror of this primary importance of the Stella river are the numerous remains and archaeological finds that have been identified in its waters.
