UNO SPAZIO ARMONICO TRA I MONTI DEL CADORE

Piazza Tiziano, la piazza storica del Cadore, sorge ai piedi di Monte Ricco ed è delimitata da una serie di palazzi realizzati tra il XV al XX secolo. Ad ovest si trovano l’Arcidiaconale, il Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità e il Palazzo Jacobi, mentre a est si affacciano la Casa di Tiziano l’Oratore e il Palazzo Genova con il suo portico. Il monumento bronzeo della piazza, inaugurato nel 1883, raffigura il suo più celebre cittadino, Tiziano Vecellio, ed è stato realizzato da Antonio Dal Zotto. Il quattrocentesco Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Cadore ospita il Museo Archeologico Cadorino con i suoi importanti reperti paleoveneti e romani provenienti dalle aree circostanti, nonché il pavimento della domus romana del II secolo d.C., i cui resti sono visibili sotto al Municipio.

A HARMONIC SPACE AMONG THE CADORE MOUNTAINS

Piazza Tiziano, the historic square of Cadore, stands at the foot of Monte Ricco and is bordered by a series of buildings built between the 15th and 20th centuries. To the west are the Arcidiaconale, the Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità and Palazzo Jacobi, while to the east overlook the Casa di Tiziano l’Oratore and Palazzo Genova with its portico. The bronze monument in the square, inaugurated in 1883, depicts its most famous citizen, Tiziano Vecellio, and was created by Antonio Dal Zotto. The 15th-century Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Cadore houses the Museo Archeologico Cadorino with its important Paleo-Venetian and Roman finds from the surrounding areas, as well as the floor of the Roman domus from the 2nd century AD, the remains of which are visible under the Town Hall.
