Early Purple Orchid 1 - a photo on Flickriver

            They’re back 😀 always a great pleasure to see these spectacular springtime beauties when they arrive back on the scene . This composition of this rather beautiful pale variety was photographed early this morning 18.04.22 in the ancient woodland of Upper Barn Copse, Fair Oak, Hampshire. The orchids in this woodland tend to grow quite tall with the flowers spaced out around the stem as they compete for light along with the now flowering bluebells
