Kinson Primary School, Bournemouth - a photo on Flickriver

            The school was opened here by the Bournemouth local education authority in 1936 replacing the old village school that was on a 99 year lease. The original school predates any other in Bournemouth and is the oldest school in continuous operation existing when Kinson was a small Dorset village. 

In 1931 the school which was maintained by Dorset was taken over by the Bournemouth LEA who replaced it with the current site as numbers grew with the new housing in the area. Later extensions included a kitching/dining room in 1949 (later 'the studio'), extra classrooms in 1951 branded as 'Hillside' and some extensions in the 1990s and the studio was preplaced more recently.
