Elionardis i Ricarda . - a photo on Flickriver

            Els Gegants de Les Preses –promocionats pel Centre Cultural i realitzats amb la participació econòmica i material dels veïns presencs i de diverses entitats del poble– foren creats per l'escultor Pere Sala, mentre que la direcció artística la realitzà Miquel Duran des del Centre Cultural.

Es van estrenar el dia 13 d'octubre de 1996 i van ser apadrinats pels Gegants de Vilobí d'Onyar i els de Les Planes d'Hostoles. El Gegant (Elionardis) fa 3'85 metres d'alçada i pesa 66 kg, mentre que la Geganta (Ricarda) en fa 3'63 i pesa 63 kg. Segons l'estudiós de la història local Mn. Joan Pagès i Pons, els noms d'Elionardis i Ricarda corresponen als noms de dos personatges històrics de l'època medieval, que estan lligats amb la història local i amb la noblesa del segle x.

Elionardis and Ricarda. 

The Giants of Les Preses –promoted by the Cultural Center and made with the economic and material participation of the residents and various entities of the town– were created by the sculptor Pere Sala, while the artistic direction was made by Miquel Duran from the Cultural Center .

They premiered on October 13, 1996 and were sponsored by the Gegants de Vilobí d'Onyar and Les Planes d'Hostoles. The Giant (Elionardis) is 3.85 meters tall and weighs 66 kg, while the Giant (Ricarda) is 3.63 meters tall and weighs 63 kg. According to the local history scholar Mn. Joan Pagès i Pons, the names of Elionardis and Ricarda correspond to the names of two historical figures from the medieval period, who are linked to local history and the nobility of the tenth century.
