2022-21 AMSTEL GOLD RACE Photo finish end...

            April, 10 - Chaos again in the Dutch Amstel Gold Race, one year after the controversial photo finish between Wout van Aert and Tom Pidcock (photo below).
 This time, 'Radio Course' wrongly declared the Frenchman Benoît Cosnefroy the winner. How could that happen? The finish judge gave mea culpa: "I've been too fast."
The photo finish this time – very different from 2021, then a millimeter difference – brought absolute clarity. The Polish Ineos Grenadier MICHEL KWIATKOWSKI was at least with a tire thickness difference faster at the finish line.
It was Kwiatkowski's second AGR victory, after his first in 2015, then as world champion.
