2024 TABOR As if she were world champion...

            Saturday, February 3 Cyclocross World Championships in Tabor, Czech Republic
If the Netherlands were on Pluto, Belgium would have a world champion. Now it became a fifth place for LAURA VERDONSCHOT, behind a quartet of Dutch riders. But Verdonschot celebrated it as if she had won the title. In Tabor she washed away years of misery. “I was so tired of cross country that I looked for a job. At a chicken farmer. Putting chicken on a spit, making chicken curry, as long as I didn't have to think about the race.”
Flashback to the Cyclo-Cross Championships in 2017. In the hippodrome of Ostend, a 20-year-old girl almost beats Sanne Cant for the Belgian title. A new Belgian super talent seems to have emerged with Laura Verdonschot. However, nothing came of it. But from this season onwards everything has changed for the better and things are going in the right direction.
