2024 TDFF Winning in the polka dot jersey!

JUSTINE GHEKIERE (1996) of the AG Insurance-Soudal Team has secured a Belgian stage victory in the polka dot mountain jersey in the Tour de France Femmes. The 28-year-old lightweight from West Flanders and revelation of this TDFF won the mountain stage to Le Grand-Bornand and was overcome with emotion afterwards: "I really have no words for this", she enjoyed in her flash reaction. "I think I'm dreaming. This is crazy."
Ghekiere survived from an early breakaway. In it, she had been pushed into the battle for her polka dot jersey. "I was really dead after I had taken the mountain points. I thought: 'I'll just ride at my own pace'. But I managed to stay away. Unbelievable. Really not. I want to thank my team. And certainly teammate Julie Van De Velde. She really rode a strong race, and did everything for me, to get me in the best position on the final climb, and to save as much of my strength as possible. This victory is also a part of her."
Winning in the polka dot jersey is given to few, but the courageous Justine did it anyway!
