Minions & the Cheesewring 10 October 2018. A view across the three stone circles at Minions towards the Cheesewring, the tower of flat rocks on the highest point at the centre right. These stones are often referred to as the Hurlers, in mythology recalling people playing the sport of hurling on the Sabbath, for which they were turned to stone. The three late Neolithic or early Bronze Age ceremonial stone circles are arranged in a line, a grouping unique in England.
