            Minions & the Cheesewring 101018. The cliff face is that of the now abandoned Cheesewring quarry, whose owners had wanted to work further into the tor, but a locally sponsored campaign prevented further cutting. 

The Cheesewring is the tallest of the 'piles' of rocks at the summit. Quarrying was a major industry in much of Cornwall and Devon and has left us with landscapes whose scars have an attraction in their own right. 

The people seen in this photo were climbing the tor to use the Cheesewring as background for filming.
