Letter of Accession to the Imperial Throne of Ethiopia

            The Letter reads

Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah
Haile Selassie I
Elect of God King of Kings of Ethiopia
May this letter reach His Excellency the President of the Government of Bolivia,
Peace be unto you.

We announce to your excellency with deep regret and sadness, that our respected and beloved mother, Her Majesty Zewditu, Queen of Kings of Ethiopia, on the 24th day the month of Megabit of this year (Ethiopian Calandar), has been led by God to her rest.  We do not doubt that you share the grief of ourself and our people on the rest of our respected and beloved Empress.

At the same time we hereby inform your excellency that we have mounted the throne of the King of Kings (of Ethiopia) and assure you that it is our chief desire that the good freindship between our two governments shoudl continue.

We wish to assure your excellency in every way, of our desire for the prosperity of your country and of yoru excellency's good health.

Again we pray to our Soveriegn Lord to keep you and give you long life.

Written on Meyazia 4th, 1924th Year of Mercy (Ethiopian Calandar) in the first year of our reign at Addis Ababa.
