In 2017 I didn't have much trouble finding fine and dandy water on this trail. But in 2018 I encountered:

- Dry streambeds

- Gross trickles

- A lake that looked OK, but I made the mistake of not filling up there because I expected the next lake to be OK as well, but it wasn't (cows grazed on the shore and the water was rather green)

- Rivers far below their normal level, also gross (containing run-off from cow pastures and whatnot)

- A slightly less gross-looking trickle (next to the first bottle picture) that nevertheless seemed to come from an agricultural area, but hey, iodine

- A relatively not-brown river (next to the second bottle picture), fuck yeah iodine

- An asshole owner of a random house where I stopped to ask if I might fill my bottle. She said no, because meh, neh, they had to be careful because of the drought. Yes, but... OMFSM, there weren't even a lot of hikers on the trail, and I wasn't dragging along a... a TRUCKLOAD OF GRASS-TURF WITH A HERD OF HORSES AND AN OUTDOOR SHOWER ON TOP. Maybe she expected me to a) lay down and die b) return home immediately. I did neither. I filled my bottles in a river a few km up the trail, and it is my fervent hope that the asshole gets her water from the same catchment area. SORRY NOT SORRY I MADE A DENT* IN YOUR WATER SUPPLY. HAHA!

My stomach felt a bit funky on August 4, but I'm not sure it was the water. Could have been nerves or the fatty trail food or something.

Anyway. Maybe every summer will be this dry from now on, so I think the next part of my Bohusleden hike should be earlier in the season. :p
