The Golden Tower di James Lee Byars.

            L’obelisco dorato, alto più di 20 metri, è stato completamente dorato con 35.500 foglie d’oro 24 carati, formato mm 80 x 80, prodotte da Giusto Manetti Battiloro, azienda leader internazionale nella produzione di foglia oro per la decorazione artistica.
 L’opera è rivestita con una quantità di oro corrispondente a 710 grammi di puro oro zecchino. 
L’installazione è stata compiuta in onore di un lontano desiderio, mai avverato, dell’enigmatico artista americano di voler collocare una scultura dorata alta più di 1.000 metri lungo il muro di Berlino.

L’obelisco dorato “The Golden Tower” fa luce su Venezia da diverse parti, essendo collocato in uno dei punti strategici della città e diventa quasi un punto di riferimento per i cittadini e i visitatori, una sorta di faro dorato che illumina Venezia dal Canal Grande.
L'opera sarà visibile fino al 26 novembre 2017
