Next! - Neue Nationalgalerie - Ludwig Mies van der Rohe

            On my 'to see' architecture list, I think I was getting a bit jaded by this stage in my travels. I wrote 'next' with a tick and 'yawn' by the Calder sculpture. I do remember that inside, I straightened all the Mies designed furniture to exactly align with the floor tiles, which exactly aligned with the columns, which exactly aligned with the ceiling grid, you get the idea. The security guards were bemused. 

We architects, will travel long distances to present ourselves in front of and inside of works by our architect heroes. Sometimes the expectation doesn't match the real thing but it's always worth it.
