Man's best friend - a photo on Flickriver

Man's best friend

            This photo was in one of my late grandfather's photo albums, amongst a couple of images from his military service during WW2.

I have been using Chat GPT to try and get a narrative of how my recollections of his stories would have fitted together with the units he mentioned being attached to and some of his endeavours. It has been interesting in terms of how to target further research.

This pic intrigues me because this dog was not my Granddad's, I would have remembered that much, but obviously made sufficient impression on him at the time that he either photographed it, or got somebody else to and then kept the photograph. Testament to the way these magnificent creatures help us along the way and become part of our lives.

Having enjoyed a work sabbatical for the last few months and various travels, I have a busy time coming up, so will be stepping back from Flickr for a little while and not posting or commenting often until towards the end of the year, I expect. I wish all my Flickr friends well and look forward to catching up in due course.
