Lincoln Cathedral stands as a beacon over the city of Lincoln. As a holy place built to the glory of God. A place of prayer and worship for the people of the city and diocese of Lincoln. Formally the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lincoln (C of E).

The earliest parts of the current building date to 1072. The building was completed in 1092. The cathedral holds one of the four remaining copies of the original Magna Carta, which is now displayed in Lincoln Castle. 

It's a Grade I Listed Building. John Ruskin described it as "out and out the most precious piece of architecture in the British Isles and roughly speaking worth any two other cathedrals we have".

Despite its size, the cathedral is filled with intricate detail. In Lincoln Cathedral the architects of the Gothic style perhaps reached the pinnacle of their art; it is an absolute must-see for anyone visiting Lincoln.

Width: 24 metres (78 ft)
It has 3 towers which are 83 metres (272 ft) and the Spire height is 160 metres (520 ft). There are a total of 20 Bells.
