General Motors EV-1 - a photo on Flickriver

            Loathing of General Motors hit an all-time high in the aftermath of the EV-1 program. It's a well known story that GM created these cute little electric vehicles which won the hearts and minds of eco-minded Californians who queued up to lease (not buy) them in droves. The pressure that initially drove GM to design and build such a car seemingly vanished so they promptly rounded them all up and had them crushed to death amid a highly publicized public outcry.  

Here is one of the few that escaped destruction though it almost certainly has been deactivated.
