Cemetery Section for the Shtetl Chechanovtza, Poland <<>> Stone Says "Chechanovtzer K.U.V."

            My second son took this photo in a cemetery in New Jersey in which many of my Dad's family members are buried. 

My family pronounced the name of the shtetl (town) in Poland as Tshekanovtzeh, at least that's what it sounded like to me. I believe a Chechanovtzer, as written on the stone step, is Yiddish for a person from the town called Chechanovtzeh, also in Yiddish.

If you know what K. U. V. stands for, please let me know... My guess is it was a society or club of people who came from the same Shtetl. I wonder if the K is for Kehila, an organization...
