            Bright direct morning sunlight reflected from my recently purchased laptop computer's screen. I shot this with my iPhone camera. I did lots of post processing using four iPhone apps to bring out what I saw with only my eyeglasses. 

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)

I think this shows that the coating is far from perfect, and not uniformly bonded. However, I don't think it matters. In daily viewing, it looks great!! And, it is a vast improvement over my former (Mid 2011) model whose old video card failed. It would have cost more than $600 to replace.  It was too old for a warranty. Upgrading to a newer model seemed more cost effective. Certainly on a risk/reward basis.

Features of this newer model that I like:
1. This late 2013 model still has the magnetic release on the charger cable. 
2. It also has a slot to read camera cards. 
3. It has a 1 Terabyte solid state drive  instead of a mechanical hard drive with a spinning disk,) So it is lightening fast!!!  
4. Photos look very clear and colorful on its "Retina" screen
5. It comes with a two year warranty that is extendable for another year.
6. I bought it at Simutek, an Apple Approved company in Tucson, Arizona. I have been dealing with them for about 12 years and they are very reliable and helpful. 

Those are all big pluses for my photography and data processing needs!!
