Fort Green Mill house - a photo on Flickriver

            This building at Fort Green, Aldeburgh, started life in 1824 as a corn mill, capable of producing 20 tonnes of flour in a week. It once had 4 double sails and a 6 part fantail. Converted to a private house in 1902 after all four sails broke and rendered it useless as a mill. Then, in WWII, it became a gun tower as part of the elaborate Suffolk coastal defences set up in the early 1940s. It was for sale in 2016 for over £1 million and has recently been restored.
