Dalhart, Texas Tornado. May 18, 2010

            Just got back from a 3+ day storm chase. We had been watching this slow moving storm for a long time in the northern Texas panhandle. The sun had set and we could only see the bottom of the storm when lighting flashed. I was keeping an eye on the storm as my friend drove. I spotted this tornado and we pulled over ASAP, I got the tripod set up and was able to pull this image out of one of my black photos by cranking the exposure way up. Luckily, this tornado was out over open range. We have no idea how far we were from it. It didn't last for long as far as we could tell. 

This is a full, uncroped photo at 187mm focal length equivalent (125mm on a Nikon D60).
