Super Moon Lunar Eclipse, September 28th 2015

            Photographing this event was way harder than I expected. We were in the beautiful Vale of Conwy in North Wales for a start with no wi-fi so I'd had to ask my wife to Google what time the eclipse was taking place and she told me it was at 1.10am. So I set my alarm and got up at 12.45am but by 01.20 clearly nothing was happening. That's when I sussed 01.10 probably referred to GMT and we were still 'an hour ahead' on BST. Sure enough at 02.10 the top left edge of the moon started to go dark and over the next hour the shadow of the Earth moved across the Moon's face. By 3am the Moon was in shadow and started to glow a faint orange like a live coal. It was a lovely sight.
I still don't know what the best aperture/ISO/exposure combination is and believe me I tried quite a few. This one is probably my best photo and is not that great. Condensation on the lens was a big problem. 
I suspect that astrophotography is a situation where my old crop sensor actually gives better results than my new full-frame one... I have learnt a bit though which hopefully I will remember for next time...
