NYW&B EMU 107 - a photo on Flickriver

NYW&B EMU 107

            The New York, Westchester and Boston was a short-lived (1912-1937) railroad from the Bronx to White Plains and Port Chester NY. The NYW&B ran electric multiple units (EMUs) in one to two car trains serving 36 stations along the lines. 

107 was one of the first batch of cars built for the NYW&B in 1912 by the Pressed Steel Car Co. designed by Lewis Stillwell. 
Some of the cars were leased from the New Haven Railroad and were returned to the NH after the Westchester's abandonment. 

All cars (except possibly one) were scrapped. Most of the railroad's right of way was sold off, some of the parts in the Bronx now carry the 5 line of the New York City Subway. At least one of the stations is now a private residence.
