            wild tiger lily (Lilium lancifolium or Lilium tigrinum) near astonupuri volcano- iturup island (Итуру́п and Oстров Итуру́п, Ostrov Iturup, Etuworop-sir), the largest of the southern Kuril (Kurile) Islands, a chain of volcanic islands crossing the pacific between the northern tip of japan and the southern tip of kamchatka (russia)

 [currently part of russia but this is disputed by japan who see the 4 southern islands as part of its northern territories - it was japanese territory until the end of WW2]
