Train to Frostburg

            My plan to follow the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad was somewhat insane, using an E-bike I would try and keep pace with the train all the way from Cumberland to Frostburg. My hopes to see C&O 1309 were dashed by the cancelation of its return only days before I had arrived, but this trim GE diesel made for an interesting subject. But the diesel has a fast pace, and while the electronic bike motor was enough to keep pace going uphill the battery drained by about Mt. Savage and I limped the bike to Frostburg with the train far ahead of me. Crazy, but it made for an unforgettable experience.
