WAITING FOR THE REAL THING... - a photo on Flickriver

            3-Car Class117 DMU crosses the River Severn at Worcester on 25-2-83.

Taken whilst waiting for three steam locos [4930, 43106 & 80079] from the SVR which were heading for Hereford and main line duties. This is the only way to have a definite date for my negative and would have been a Friday.

I was messing about with an autowinder attachment on my Olympus and it had decided to be temperamental for the locos, after a single shot on the viaduct. Hence there was a desperate chase to Withington and then later Hereford.

Worcester viaduct, out of view to the right is 855m (935 yards) long, & has 68 arches.
