FMCbwslides010 Southampton Central - a photo on Flickriver

            No date for this image of what looks like trip no 23 being worked by a Class 08 at Southampton Central.
Pre-electrification so before 1967 and the young boy on the end of the platform is wearing what I would call a Gabardine type coat which may have been part of an early 60's school uniform.
Can anyone make out what the large vehicle in the centre of the train is? Its not a great image and it looks like something heavy is being moved.
