FMcbwnegs1725 92232 Cardiff General - a photo on Flickriver

            Cardiff General on the 11th of July 1959 and Riddles 9F 92232 is waiting to head east (initially) on a passenger service with a Midland Porthole Coach at the front.
The loco was new from Crewe Works to BR at Pontypool Road in August 1958 and withdrawn on Boxing Day 1964 from Cardiff East Dock after only 6 years and 4 months in service. The loco went to Woodhams at Barry who cut the loco up very quickly by March 1965.
Maybe one of the surviving double chimney 9F's will run with this number in the future.
