Pictures from a long lost youth
In 1972 I had just acquired my very first camera - a Kodak Brownie. I was just 9 years old and eager to become a photographer! I have unearthed some of my earliest photos, taken on my first time away from home on my own - a school field trip to Devon. Happy days :)

We were on our school field trip, a month or so before we split up for the summer and got scattered to the four winds of 'big school'.

We were staying in a guest house in the Devon village of South Milton near Kingsbridge. In this shot I was perfecting my skills as a serious street photographer again - I must have called out to Susan (yes I can still remember her name!) and captured the moment as we returned to the Holiday Fellowship Guest House after an evening walk. Happy days.

Thurlestone is a village five miles west of Kingsbridge in the South Hams district in south Devon, England. The village takes its name from Thurlestone Rock, the so-called "thirled stone", an arch-shaped rock formation just offshore in Thurlestone Bay.

Taken with a Kodak Brownie 120 roll-film camera. Scanned from the original 120 negative, with no digital restoration.
