Arduino with 40 column LCD - a photo on Flickriver

            I'd had this 40 column, two row LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) hanging around for a while, so it was time to wire it up to my new Arduino Duemilanove. I used four-bit mode to save using up too many of the Arduino's I/O pins.  The backlight isn't powered up yet, but the text shows up OK.  The host computer is an IBM ThinkPad T21 running Slackware 12.1 and Arduino 0012.
