Striking Hillock: Childhood Memory - a photo on Flickriver

Coming into Nampa, Idaho, approaching this small hillock with an interesting rock formation, topped by a Christian cross, I wanted to stop, but had just driven 500 miles, an 8 hour trip, and wanted to check into my hotel and rest a bit.
I'd left California really early, so it was only about 4pm mountain time when I arrived in Nampa. After taking some photos of the historic downtown area, I ventured back along Highway 55 to get photos of the Snake River from Marsing Island.

Right now I don't know if I was struck with a memory, or if I actually saw the small sign at the base of Lizard Butte, but I clearly had a memory from childhood of seeing this place. I was born in Nampa, but the family moved to Los Angeles when I was 3. My fading memories of Idaho are from vacation trips while in elementary school visiting Grandma.

The rock stretching across the top of the hillock looks like a reclining lizard from the Snake River side. There are Easter Sunday services on the Butte every year, but it's private property so I didn't venture up the hill.

This view of Lizard Butte leaving Nampa for the Snake River doesn't show the "lizard". The rock looks more like a lizard from the other side, and I'll post photos of it later, but this view struck me visually and personally as well.
