The Muddy Mississippi - a photo on Flickriver

I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get down close to the edge of the river for one of my up close shots. I chose Mud Island as my photographic destination for photographing the river. Sadly, there were no "riverside walks" anywhere in sight. There were a couple of places where I could have hiked through the dense foliage, but I wasn't wearing my hiking boots at the time and the landscape didn't look too friendly.

This is about as close as I got. That's the Hernando de Soto bridge in the background.
